about

The Trollwife's Tear
by D.J. Conway

"The Trollwife's Tear" was originally found by searching for pagan children's stories, and found on www.ladybridget.com. The story itself was originally published September 1st 2005 by Crossing Press (first published August 1st 2005) in a book called "The Ancient Art of Faery Magick," by D.J. Conway, which explores the different types of Fae, including guided meditations and rituals. However, the story seems to be one out of a series of tales about a Wiccan-raised girl named Beth. The audio was selected and included as a segment in Kakophonos Internet Radio's 2012 Hallowe'en Special.

The text of a slightly different version of the story can be read at deemartin.com/the-troll-tear

About the Author:
A native of the Pacific Northwest, author D.J. Conway has studied the occult fields for over 35 years. Her quest for knowledge has covered every aspect of Paganism and Wicca to New Age and Eastern philosophies; plus history, the magical arts, philosophy, customs, mythologies and folklore. In 1998, she was voted Best Wiccan and New Age author by Silver Chalice, a Pagan magazine. She lives a rather quiet life, with most of her time spent researching and writing.

This narration appears on Kakophonos Internet Radio episode #19, Hallowe'en 2012. The audio was narrated and produced by Rikki LaCoste, with Jennifer Robert.

lyrics

Excerpt from the story:
"It was a sad time for Beth as she climbed the little hill behind her house. In her arms was her cat and friend Smoky, carefully wrapped in his favorite blanket. A little grave was already dug on the hill, waiting, for Smoky had died that day ... 'Dying is part of the cycle of life, you know.' One of the boulders on the hill stirred into life."
